‘KÖSZ’, Thank you for helping together!
The 13th year of our charity program, ‘KÖSZ, Hankook! – Community Cooperation for a Better World’, has been launched, and many colleagues have joined us again. Thank you to everyone who applied and who cares about making our environment more beautiful and livable!
Now that the application period has closed, we are pleased to announce that this year our company will support 44 projects, totalling nearly 29 million forints. The winning organisations and colleagues participating in the projects have already started working on the implementation, as, just like before, the applicants themselves are coordinating these initiatives.
The essence of the KÖSZ, Hankook! program continues to be that the company supports local community goals that are important to Hankook employees and they are willing to work for them – as employees, volunteers, and local residents. Hankook provided a maximum of 800,000 forints in funding per project, but the real value lies in the work invested, the hours spent together, and the results achieved together.
An important innovation this year was that applications could be submitted exclusively online, through a website created for this purpose. Forms and required documents had to be submitted electronically, which made the application process more efficient.
This year again, we announced a competition among the winning projects: the organisation that involves the most Hankook employees in volunteer work will receive additional support this year, which was increased to 500,000 forints. This amount can be used freely for the benefit of the institution. Participation must be verified at the end of the project with a group photo and a signature collection sheet – however, no separate application is required, as all winners will automatically participate in the competition. The winner of the competition will be announced after the program has ended.
Thank you once again for doing so much for our communities. It is good to see that volunteering is not just a word for us, but a real action.
Donation to the hospital
Hankook Tire has supported the St.Pantaleon Hospital in Dunaújváros on several occasions in recent years: following an initiative by one of our employees, our company provided financial assistance for the installation of a new nurse call system for the surgical department last year. In the past we participated in the renovation of the maternity ward, and our donations have also included protective equipment and ventilators.
This year, our company wanted to make the hospital stay more pleasant for young patients, so we offered 3 million forints for the development of the children’s ward. The institution used the donation to purchase new children’s beds, toys and refrigerators, install air conditioning units and heat-protective film on the windows and awnings on the terrace.
We believe that social responsibility is demonstrated through local, real actions. The hospital is part of many of our lives, so it is a particular pleasure to be able to help the youngest patients recover. On behalf of the hospital management, Director General Dr. Örs Szilágyi also expressed his gratitude, emphasising that all such support pays off in the long run, especially in paediatrics.
