As in previous years, the 2024 year was full of charitable activities and support, and we even expanded our charitable activities. In addition to our successful Tire Donation and Employee Volunteer Programs, we also launched Hankook for Sport Program. Last year, Hankook donated a total of HUF 23 million to the various volunteer programs, and contributed around 1,600 premium tires to the effective operation of charitable organizations, while smaller sports organizations in our area received HUF 3 million to upgrade their equipment. Here are the details!
Last year again we launched the “KÖSZ Hankook” program. Employees could apply for financial support for the renewal of institutions and community spaces and take part in the work. Last year, 40 projects could fit into the budget of around €23 million. We are delighted that so many people were involved in the projects and that the money donated went to the right place.
Thanks to the program, a new playground has been added to the Bartók Béla Street base of the Family Support Service in Dunaújváros. We look back on the history of “KÖSZ, Hankook!” with awe, it is uplifting to see that more than 1000 of our employees have now given their free time to create value for the public.
In addition, we extended help to Family Support Service to organise the “Toy Festival” in order to support the start of school for disadvantaged families and the “Advent Playhouse” event.
In the framework of the Hankook Education Support Program (HOPP), the company helped to improve the equipment of local schools. We also supported the local St. Pantaleon Hospital and many local events and activities.
Our Tire Donation Program was launched for the thirteenth time last year. Through this initiative, our company supports non-profit organisations, helping them to carry out their missions safely with premium Hankook tires on their vehicles.
In 2024, we have supported 132 small organisations with approximately 1,600 tires. In addition to civil guards and NGOs, the National Ambulance Service, the Local Government of Dunaújváros Municipality and the National Disaster Relief could also count on our donations.
It is a pleasure to say it: our company has expanded its social responsibility program by supporting sports organisations. Thanks to you, we have launched the “Hankook for Sport” Program in 2024 to provide financial support to amateur sports organisations. In the end we were able to support 12 applications with a total of HUF 3 million. Among others, martial arts, mass sports, dance, table tennis, tennis and cheerleading associations benefited from the donation. We hope that our new programme will once again become a tradition.
