May proved once again that spending time together not only relaxes us, but also brings us closer together. Our employees had the opportunity to participate in two exciting activities: a trip to Szeged and a prestigious football tournament ensured good atmosphere and memorable moments.

As part of the ‘Hankook Enjoy Hungary’ program series, which was created to explore different regions of Hungary, we headed to Szeged on 10 May. Once again, interest was huge, and the enthusiasm of the applicants filled us with great joy. It is good to see that more and more people enjoy going on trips and relaxing with their colleagues – the program is not only about leisure time, but also about spending quality time together.
The day began with sightseeing, where the participants were impressed by the charming streets, historic buildings and Cathedral Square of Szeged. The monumentality of the Szeged Cathedral amazed everyone – many noted that they would definitely return here.
The afternoon was also full of experiences: after lunch together on the banks of the Tisza, the programme ended with a wine tasting at the Újvári Winery. The special atmosphere of the venue, the fine wines and the good company ensured that everyone had something to talk about the next day.
On 11 May, we took to the field for a sporting event: our team took part in one of the most prestigious sporting events in the Hungarian automotive industry, the IX. Automotive Football Cup. Participation in the tournament is a source of pride in itself – and our performance can only be described in superlatives!
The Hankook team excelled even in the group stages. In the first round, we were placed in a group with last year’s champions Continental and Samsung ISD, where we managed to win even against such renowned teams – we won all our matches with energetic, joyful play.
We also got off to a good start in the knockout stage, overcoming our current opponents in an extremely close battle. However, the new draw resulted in a round without a break for us. In this match, we had to face a well-rested and strong opponent, where unfortunately we were defeated despite using all our reserves of strength. Although we did not make it to the top eight this time, our enthusiasm, fighting spirit and sportsmanship still made our team winners. The statistics speak for themselves: 27 goals scored and only 7 conceded is a great achievement.
We sincerely congratulate our team and are very proud of them!

Whether we were walking along the sunny streets of Szeged or cheering each other on at the football pitch, one thing is certain: shared experiences are values that strengthen our community in the long term. We hope that more and more people will join our programmes in the future – because at Hankook, we don’t just work, we also collect experiences!
