In addition to our successful Tire Donation and Employee Volunteer Programs, our company has launched the “Hankook for Sport Program”. As a result, Hankook has supported volunteer programs with a total of HUF 20 million, and has contributed with around 2,000 premium tires to the successful operation of charitable organizations across the country, while smaller sports organizations in the region have received HUF 3 million to upgrade their equipment. As in previous years, this year we launched again a call for applications from our employees for funding the renewal of institutions and community spaces dear to them, for which they also offered their help. This year, 41 projects could fit into the budget of around HUF 20 million. The program is now closed, the volunteers have done a fantastic job, we are delighted that so many of you have been involved in the projects and that the money has been put to good use.
We look back on the history of KÖSZ, Hankook! with a sense of wonder, because it is touching to see that more than 1,000 of our employees have now given up some of their free time to create value for public good.
We are pleased to announce that this year we have launched our Tire Donation Program for the thirteenth time. Through this initiative, our company supports non-profit organisations, helping them to carry out their missions safely with premium Hankook tires on their vehicles.
This year, we supported 132 small organisations with approximately 1,500 tires. In addition, the National Ambulance Service, the Municipality of Dunaújváros and the National Disaster Relief also could count on our donations.
Another good news is that this year our company has added to its social responsibility program by supporting sports organisations. Thanks to you, we have launched the “Hankook for Sport Program” in 2024 to provide financial support to amateur sports organisations, as sport contributes not only to health but also to the strengthening and development of community values. We were finally able to support 12 applications with a total of HUF 3 million. The donations went to martial arts, mass sports, dance, table tennis, tennis and cheerleading associations, among others. We hope to create a tradition with our new program.
