Another birthday celebrated in Rácalmás
Perhaps even the heavens knew about the special event organised on9 May, so they were kind to us and we were able to celebrate Hankook’s 84th birthday and the 18th birthday of the Rácalmás factory’s start of production in sunny weather. At the event, as is now tradition, in addition to celebrating the parent company and its Central European subsidiary, we also recognised the loyalty and diligence of our colleagues celebrating milestone anniversaries.
The festive event was opened by Managing Director Ho Taek Lim, who also had personal reasons to celebrate on this day: it was exactly thirty years ago that he joined the Hankook team. In his speech, he looked back on the founding of the Rácalmás factory:
“In 2006, it was a big step for Hankook to start manufacturing outside Asia. As they say, the rest is history: with an investment of €890 million, we completed three phases and now export tires to all European countries. Now the TBR investment is underway, and from 2027 we will also be manufacturing truck and bus tires.”
The anniversary was a fitting occasion to thank our colleagues for their loyalty and outstanding performance. This year, 175 employees celebrated 10 years of service and 80 celebrated 15 years of service – all of them received Long Service Awards , while 30 of our colleagues received Excellence Awards.
‘Not everyone is celebrating a milestone anniversary today, but let’s not forget that more than 1,000 of our colleagues have been with the company for more than 10 years. That’s a big number, and it shows the strength and bond of our community. I would like to thank you all for your commitment to the company!’ emphasised the managing director.
He also addressed those who received excellence awards: “Your contribution to Hankook’s development is clear; innovative spirit and initiative are the keys to individual and corporate success.’
‘Please take care of your safety and health! Keep safety in mind both at work and in your free time. Make sure to follow the relevant rules and prevent accidents,’ Ho Taek Lim urged at the end of his speech.. The birthday celebration combined with award ceremonies was not only enriched by certificates and awards, but also by shared moments, which we tried to capture in numerous photos. We would like to congratulate the award winners once again and wish them further joint success!
We hosted Korean long-serving employees at our plant in Rácalmás
Our parent company treated its Korean employees who have been members of the Hankook team for 30 years to a multi-day trip. As part of the reward trip, they also visited the Rácalmás plant, where 150 long-serving employees arriving in four groups were welcomed by Managing Director Ho Taek Lim. The honoured guests were treated to Korean specialities prepared for the occasion, and after a short tour of the factory and some time to relax, they continued on their way, enriched by their experiences.
