Double Hankook Anniversary
Hankook Tire celebrated a special anniversary this year: while the company marked the 85th anniversary of its founding worldwide, we also celebrated the 20th year of operations at our Rácalmás plant. Two important milestones that show what a long road Hankook has made both on international markets and in our region.
The anniversary event wasn’t just about the achievements of recent years, but first and foremost about you: the people who, day in and day out, have helped make Hankook one of the most influential and stable workplaces in the region today.
A Celebration of Engagement and Teamwork
One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of the Excellence and Long Service Awards. With these honors, the company recognizes colleagues who have worked tirelessly and with dedication for the Hankook community for many years.
“A factory’s strength comes not only from its production lines and technology, but also from the people who carry out their work with expertise and dedication day after day,” highlighted Lim Ho Taek, Managing Director, in his commemorative speech. “It is a tradition for the company to recognize the commitment and dedication of its employees on this anniversary. I am pleased to announce that this year, 159 of our colleagues are celebrating 15 years of service, 94 are celebrating 10 years, and 123 are celebrating 5 years with the company. Thirty-five percent of our employees have been working at our plant for more than 10 years. We are proud that a significant portion of our workforce plans to build a long-term future with us, which validates our efforts to create a stable and supportive workplace.”
Behind the numbers, of course, lie stories, shared experiences, and many years of hard work. For many of us, Hankook is not just a workplace, but also a community where we have the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally.
More Than Just a Workplace
Over the past twenty years, Hankook Tire Hungary Ltd.. has become one of the most reliable and stable employers in the region. However, it has not only continued to grow as a manufacturing plant but also as a company that pays special attention to the daily lives of its employees. The Hankook House, which provides free housing, the bus service, various benefits, and team-building programs all serve the goal of ensuring that employees feel secure and valued in the long term.
The atmosphere of the anniversary event reflected this as well: after the ceremonial speeches and award presentations, we celebrated together, cut the birthday cake, and reminisced about memories from past years.
Several of the award recipients also shared their personal thoughts. Dr. Judit Katona, training specialist, said:
“It is a great honor for me to receive the Excellence Award. I am proud to have contributed to our shared successes, and it motivates me to continue delivering the best possible performance in the future. This award reaffirms that it is worth working with perseverance and dedication.”
Hankook will continue to rely on the knowledge and commitment of Hungarian professionals to operate a strategic base in Rácalmás that is capable of meeting the ever-changing challenges of mobility in the long term.
