As you may be already aware, since the end of 2021, renovations have been taking place in our factory, under the management of General Affairs. First, you were able to use again the downstairs toilet of Mixing Phase 2 from the beginning of February, which underwent a complete refurbishment during the month and a half of renovation, with new tiles, walls, sanitary ware, lighting and plumbing.
The work will continue: in the Mixing section, as in the previous phase, we plan to carry out a complete renovation of the first floor bathrooms in Phase 1. In 2022, we plan to repair the damaged tiling of the men’s shower in the Welfare building, carry out minor and major renovations of the Logistics’ bathrooms and the black and white changing rooms 1 and 2. In fact, probably by the time you read this, the replacement of damaged or missing shower heads and taps in black and white building 2 will be complete.
In addition to the washrooms and changing rooms, the focus this year will also be on the resting areas. Most of these have already undergone a thorough cleaning, but we are making steady progress in all areas where this is needed. Some resting areas will be given a clean coat of paint and there will also be places where the lighting will be upgraded. We are gradually scrapping the damaged three seated benches in them. Fortunately, there are still a number of black benches in good condition, so we will use them in some rooms while in others we will place the newly ordered metal benches.
The pace of works is highly dependent on the capacity of the construction industry and the constantly changing prices of building materials, but General Affairs is doing its utmost to ensure that all renovations and repairs planned for 2022 are completed. The Facility Technology Team has been a great help in both the preparation and execution of the completed projects; their cooperation and expertise have been essential to the success of the work.
These investments are made for your comfort, so we ask you to take care of the renovated premises and leave them in the condition you would like them to be in, after use. This is particularly true in case of toilets, where objects that have been put down the toilet drains, instead of the rubbish bin, cause 70% of blockages in plumbing. So, with proper use, unpleasant blockages can (also) be avoided. Take care of yourselves, each other and your environment!
