82 years of Hankook – more than three hundred people honored
Eighty-two years is a good age for a person. And for a global company, the 82nd anniversary of its founding is a truly remarkable event – especially if it continues to achieve success in today’s turbulent economic times, which are marked by crisis. As you are the first for us, it was only natural that in addition to Hankook’s birthday, we should also celebrate the long-standing and excellent work of our employees.
Even the weather was kind on the morning of 10 May, when the smell of delicious food and a tsunami of applause flooded the space between Welfare and the Main Building. As in previous years, we held our Hankook birthday party here. Also on this day, the Best Employee and Long Service Awards were presented to daytime employees, the latter for those who have been with the company for 10 or 15 years.
In addition to the award winners, a large number of colleagues and managers attended the morning event to congratulate their colleagues on the occasion. The event started with a speech by Managing Director Kim Hyung Yun, who thanked the staff for their dedication and commitment and for doing their best despite the challenges.
“It is a tradition for the company to recognize the dedication and commitment of its employees on the occasion of anniversaries. I am happy to say that 30 percent of our employees have been working here at Hankook Tire Hungary Ltd. for more than 10 years, and more than 300 of them are celebrating their 10th or 15th anniversary of service today. Congratulations and my hearty thanks to all of you!” – said Kim Hyung Yun congratulating his colleagues.
The awards were presented afterwards: in the morning, four people received the Best Employee Award, 49 received a 15-year Long Service Award and 21 received a 10-year Long Service Award. Afterwards, the programme continued with a glass of champagne and informal discussions. In the afternoon, employees on shifts A, B and c3 received their awards. On this occasion, 60 employees received some kind of award. On 15 May, the deserving workers of shifts B, a, a3 received their rightful recognition as a result of many years of hard work. On 22 May, the awards ceremony continued with a tribute to the jubilant colleagues of shifts C, b3 and ended on 25 May with the recognition of the dedicated workers of shift D.
This year, more than 300 people have been honored. We congratulate all the winners and wish them continued success!
