Achievements we all can be proud of

Hankook CSR – this is how we helped in 2025

As you may have noticed, at Hankook, Corporate Social Responsibility is not just a corporate program, but a common goal. Initiatives supporting communities will continue in 2026: in the spring, in keeping with tradition, KÖSZ Hankook! eEmployee Volunteer Program will be launched again, and “Hankook for Sports” will also continue. However, before we dive into this year’s projects, it’s worth taking a look at all we’ve managed to achieve together in 2025 in the areas of education, healthcare, sports, and support for local communities.

Special healthcare support in Dunaújváros

Last year, Hankook once again made a significant donation to the Szent Pantaleon Hospital in Dunaújváros, this time focusing on the development of the children’s ward. Thanks to our company’s contribution of 3 million forints, the youngest patients can now recover in a much more comfortable environment.

The institution recognized Hankook’s long-term, systematic support and the commitment of the factory’s employees with the “Szent Pantaleon Hospital Priority Supporter” award.

Employee cooperation: KÖSZ Hankook!

One of the most important pillars of the company’s social responsibility strategy continues to be the KÖSZ Hankook! (Community Cooperation for a Better) Employee Volunteer Program, which achieved outstanding results in 2025. During the year, Hankook supported employee-submitted projects with a total of 29 million forints. A total of 44 projects were implemented, 38 of which were educational developments worth approximately 25 million forints. Thanks to the program — and the enthusiasm of the volunteers — several classrooms were renovated, and playgrounds, kindergartens, nurseries were also beautified. In addition, volunteers built an outdoor classroom and replaced fences and paving.

A total of 650 people took part in the work, including 252 Hankook employees and 398 external volunteers. The participants spent a total of 5,011 working hours supporting communities in 16 settlements.

Education development: HOPP grants

Hankook Education Support Program (HOPP) continued to focus on developing institutional infrastructure and practical education in 2025. Under the program, Bánki Donát Technical College of the University of Dunaújváros received nearly HUF 3.9 million in grants, while DSZC Dunaferr Technical College and Vocational School received HUF 3.8 million in grants, which the schools used to purchase, among other things, a state-of-the-art EDGECAM software package, software tracking, and milling tools to aid in mechanical engineering training.

Tire Donations to Serve Communities

Hankook launched its Tire Donation Program in 2012, and it has remained an important part of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts ever since. Through this initiative, nonprofit organizations receive premium-quality tires to support their daily operations.

The program was announced for the fourteenth time in 2025, and nearly 130 organizations received support. The donations help ensure that the vehicles of organizations working for the benefit of the community can operate more safely and cost-effectively.

“Hankook for Sports” Program – For Health

Promoting a healthy lifestyle is also an important part of Hankook’s CSR activities. Under the “Hankook for Sports” program, nine sports organizations received a total of 4.8 million forints in funding last year.

The supported organizations included martial arts, dance, badminton, and student sports clubs, with a particular focus on youth development and opportunities for young people to participate in sports.

Community Engagement and Social Responsibility

Hankook remained an active participant in the region’s community life in 2025. Our company once again supported the Ambrózia Festival in Dunaújváros and the Rácalmás Pumpkin Festival, and also provided a bus for the Rácalmás Senior Citizens’ Club’s outing, as well as for the summer camps of the Útkeresés Support Service.

The company has been supporting the work of Útkeresés for ten years now. Last year, a donation of 2.3 million forints helped ensure that every child registered with the organization received the school starter kit they needed, and that the Christmas Advent playhouse could take place.

The end of the year is always a particularly strong time for community cooperation. Our employees helped those in need through their own fundraising initiatives: a significant amount of non-perishable food was collected, and the Hankook community also joined the nationwide “Chocolate Collection with Boti” campaign. Thanks to these donations, the holidays became a little brighter for many children recovering in hospitals.

Acknowledgement for collective work

The collective work not only means a great deal to local communities but has also earned recognition in professional circles: last year, Hankook received the Community Contribution Award at the 1st Hungarian Korean Companies CSR Awards.

The award is part of an initiative established by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Hungary, which encourages and recognizes the social responsibility of Korean companies operating in our country.

“We believe that the company’s long-term success is closely linked to the development of the communities in which it operates. Through our programs, we not only want to support but also actively participate in creating local value,” emphasized Katalin Roy, Head of Communications at Hankook Tire.
