As the year comes to an end, it’s worth looking back at the achievements and the best moments that will give us energy for 2025. Join us as we take a look at the most memorable Hankook moments of 2024!
1. Hankook Tire birthday – 500 key employees
It has become a tradition to celebrate the anniversary of our parent company and our factory in Rácalmás with a big event where employees celebrating their 10th or 15th anniversary and colleagues who have done an excellent job are honoured.
2. The Ólomkatonák team represented us
In March, we held the Hankook Football Tournament, the winner of which was the team Ólomkatonák, so on 12 May, together with other players, they represented Hankook at the most prestigious football event of the Hungarian automotive industry, the VIII Automotive Football Cup, where they came 5th out of 72 participants.
3. We conquered the city of Pécs
In May, as part of the “Hankook Enjoy Hungary” program, we headed to Pécs, where we visited the historic city centre and the famous TV Tower. To crown the event, we ended the day with a wine tasting in Villány.
4. We supported a hospital and secondary schools
On the initiative of one of our employees, we supported the purchase and installation of a nurse call system in both wings of the Surgical Department of the Szent Pantaleon Hospital in Dunaújváros with more than 4.6 million HUF. We also financed the equipment development of two technical secondary schools under the Hankook Education Support Program (HOPP).
5. The Hankook Open Day is complete with you
The doors of our factory were opened again on 11 May to the relatives of our employees. As last year, the special day was attended by a huge turnout, with more than 120 visitors coming behind the scenes.
6. The volunteers’ enthusiasm is huge
It’s touching to see that the Employee Volunteer Program (“KÖSZ”), which is 12 years old in 2024, had more applications than ever before, 55 in total. Seeing the great enthusiasm, Hankook’s management decided to award an additional HUF 300,000 to the project with the most Hankook colleagues who have contributed to its realisation through their voluntary work.
7. Clean environment, shared results
EHS Team organised a similar awareness-raising waste collection as last year on World Environment Day. The number of participants was approximately double as compared to last year, 91 persons. It was a pleasure to see that the area that had much less litter this year.
8. Festival experience as a gift
There was no shortage of musical, cultural and gastronomic experiences in June at the newly debuted Ambrózia Festival in Dunaújváros, where we also added to the event with a number of exciting activities at the Hankook sponsorship tent. We also drew 100 free day tickets among our employees.
9. Hankook Summer Camps
Once again, the Hankook summer camps attracted great interest. We succeeded in creating an unforgettable experience for the children who participated, so we can promise you that we will do it again in 2025.
10. No September without a family and sports day
In early September, hundreds of people took part in the highly successful 3rd Hankook Family and Sports Day, which included the inevitable favourites – foam parties, cooking and sports competitions, and dozens of other exciting activities.
11. Blood donations are popular
In our plant, the EHS department organises blood donations several times a year and we are proud that 560 people have donated blood in the last 3 years. Thank you!
12. We had a great weekend together
We had a huge party in mid-September at the Pumpkin Festival in Rácalmás, where the most elaborate decoration of the event won a set of Hankook tires.
13. Hankook on top lists
Hankook has been ranked among the world’s most sustainable companies, beating more than 4,500 companies in TIME and Statista’s list.
14. On the ice
In the last month of the year, we had the opportunity to use the Dunaújváros Ice Hall for free. It was a pleasure to see you on the ice!
