Ten million forints for charity
We supported the local hospital and technical high schools in Dunaújváros
It’s good to give, and helping our communities is an uplifting feeling. See who Hankook has supported in the past and how!
We made it possible to build a nurse call system
On the initiative of one of our colleagues, we supported the purchase and installation of a nurse call system in both wings of the Surgery Ward of the Saint Pantaleon Hospital in Dunaújváros with more than 4.6 million HUF. The investment was completed in May, and the newly installed system will greatly facilitate patient care, help nurses and contribute to the safety of inpatients.
“Supporting local communities, acting locally for development and contributing to a better, more liveable environment is a priority for Hankook. Because of its territorial jurisdiction, St. Pantaleon Hospital is the institution to which most of our employees can turn when needed. Many children, including many Hankook employees, are born within the walls of this hospital. So we are honored to contribute to the conscientious work of the hospital staff and the comfort of the patients who are treated here,” said Hongsuk Lee, our HR Team Manager.
We have supported the work of the local hospital on several occasions in the past: in 2019, we purchased a respiratory machine for the hospital, helped renovate the maternity ward and donated a large amount of protective equipment during the Covid pandemic.
HOPP for technical high schools’ equipment development
Two technical high schools have been supported to upgrade their equipment in the frame of the Hankook Education Support Program (HOPP). The Bánki Donát Technical School of the University of Dunaújváros recently received a HUF 3 million donation, while the DSZC Dunaferr Technical and Vocational School received a HUF 2.5 million donation.
“Thanks to Hankook’s help, our school has been able to make significant equipment upgrades. We are very grateful to the company, as it would have taken us many years to acquire these tools from our own resources,” said Zoltán Zemankó, Deputy Director General of the DSZC Dunaferr Technical and Vocational School.
“Thanks to the support, we have managed to purchase an additional set of analogue electronics and optoelectronics, as well as a pneumatic battery pack. These tools will greatly contribute to updating our educational equipment and bringing it up to date with today’s technologies,” said Attila Müller, Deputy Director of General and Professional Affairs at the University of Dunaújváros Bánki Donát Technical School, at the handover ceremony.
“For Hankook, the issue of education is of utmost importance, so we are very happy to contribute to the state-of-the-art education of students in Dunaújváros,” emphasized Katalin Roy, Head of Communications of our company.
