Easter is one of the greatest holidays of the Christians. Its name in Hungarian marks the end of the period of abstinence from meat, i.e. the end of fast. 

There have been records of the celebration of Easter since the 3rd century; a variety of folk customs are also associated with it. From these customs, we have collected some lesser known Hungarian traditions:
