When the factory is more full of life
After four years of compulsory hiatus, relatives of Hankook employees had the chance to take a look behind the scenes of our premium tyre factory. Our Family Open Day was a huge success, with more than 120 visitors attending on 26 August. Following this great success, we will open the doors again in the autumn, if we get the chance, so that everyone can show their loved ones what it’s like to work in a world-class factory.
The satisfaction and engagement of our Hankook colleagues is of primary importance, which is why we have organized our Family Open Day again. Visitors started arriving at Hankook House early in the morning, where we offered gifts after pre-registration.
After a visit to our company’s three-star hotel, we headed to the factory. The day continued in the main lecture hall: after the introductory film, Hongsuk Lee, HR Team Manager and Katalin Roy, Communications Manager, welcomed the participants. Afterwards, the highly expected factory visit started, where our engineers demonstrated the tire manufacturing process and the visitors could find out exactly where Hankook employees work and what they do during working hours. And what could have ended the visit better than a delicious lunch together in the canteen.
It was uplifting to see the interested looks on the families’ faces, the children’s genuine enthusiasm and their proud faces! No question was left unanswered: everything from the big machines to the forklift trucks and the smallest screws were shown around the factory.
It was 4 years ago, in 2019 that a similar event was held, so the enthusiasm was understandable, but the great interest exceeded all expectations. On the fourth day of the one-week registration period, all places were full and registrations were still coming in after the deadline. That’s why we are planning to provide one more opportunity for factory visit to employees’ families. Details will be announced in due course.
