Greetings

This year has passed quickly. It is time to take a review of the past year, both positive and negative.

It is true to say that we have had to learn to adapt to the losses and economic conditions caused by the pandemic, as well as the unfortunate wars in neighboring Ukraine and the Middle East. However, 2023 has also brought us a wealth of good news and experiences. 

Thanks to our excellent teamwork, our iON evo tireswere voted best in the latest AutoBild test – in both dry and wet grip, wet road handling and reduced rolling resistance. The tire family has also won four awards in the Product Design category of the 2023 Red Dot Design Awards.

We also received a spectacular response when the first and second runners-up in the HUMDA Hungarian Rally Championship crossed the finish line on Hankook tires.

And what we can be especially proud of, as employees of the Hungarian factory, is that our plant – as a committed believer in sustainability – was awarded the ISCC PLUS certification in the autumn.  

Fortunately, there was also time for relaxation alongside the hard work. One of the highlights of the year, I think, was definitely the UEFA Europa League final in Budapest, where hundreds of Hankook employees were able to cheer on the team they felt most sympathetic to. This year, we celebrated our company’s 82nd birthday and, of course, our dedicated employees with a series of big events.

A memorable event was our Family Open Day, which was held again this year – twice – after a long gap of many years. We were able to relax together at Hankook’s Family and Sports Day, which was an absolute success. Fortunately, the list could go on and on, as we have tried to bring some interesting and exciting events to the busy weekdays for all of us. 

All in all, our team has done a great job this year and we have achieved excellent results. That is why I would like to thank you again for the great care and attention that everyone has shown in carrying out the tasks entrusted to them to the best of their ability. Thank you for your hard work and dedication throughout the year.

I sincerely hope that all my dear colleagues will spend the period ahead of us in peace and happiness, surrounded by their families and loved ones. I wish you a Happy Holidays and a Prosperous Happy New Year!
