The year 2023 is now behind us. All in all, it has been a challenging year, not only for our company, but for us all. I cannot be grateful enough for the work you have done over the past year to ensure that the company continues to grow despite the many challenges. Thank you!
Last year, our company won many prestigious awards that we could not have earned without your perseverance and hard work. Our iON tires have won several awards, making them the frontrunner in the electric car tire market. We have stepped up a gear: we have further expanded our range of electric car tires to suit different seasons and uses.
We are also now the exclusive tire supplier for Formula E, the world famous EV race and the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series. We are also proud of the great results achieved by the teams competing with Hankook tires in the HUMDA Hungarian Rally Championship.
And, as a company committed to sustainability, our plant was awarded ISCC PLUS (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) in 2023.
This year also presents us with many challenges. In the second half of the year, the construction of the TBR (truck tire) manufacturing plant will start and is expected to be completed in 2027. At the same time, there will be changes at the Hankook House: an extra wing will be built and interior renovations will take place, while the services will improve thanks to a bigger cafeteria and an increase in internet bandwidth.
Partnerships with premium car manufacturers will continue. And after the successful BMW audit, we all need to be even more vigilant to meet quality and safety standards. I ask for your help and cooperation to raise the standards we achieved even further in 2024, to meet ever-higher customer expectations.
I hope that the spring period ahead will be a successful one for all my colleagues, and that besides working, all will have time to spend with their families and loved ones.
