After the restrictions of the last two years, we finally had a slightly more eventful spring. All events are free to attend again, and in May we have participated in a major cultural event, Korea Day in Millenial Park. I am especially proud of this day, as our stand was well organised by enthusiastic colleagues and welcomed visitors throughout the day. Although several other Korean companies were represented, Hankook was particularly popular. But most of all, I felt delighted that nearly 120 of our colleagues came to Korea Day to get a taste of Korean culture with the free bus service provided by the company.
In May, we’ve celebrated not only the Koran culture but also each other. At the occasion of the 81st anniversary of our parent company, 347 Hankook employees received the Long Service Awards and 32 colleagues earned Excellence Awards. I am proud to say that 30% of our colleagues are working for Hankook for more than 10 years, and it’s no secret that I want to see this number increase in the future. Congratulations to all the award winners, but I would like to highlight two who have recieved a special award for putting a lot of energy, work and love into helping the refugee relatives of our colleagues during the crisis in Ukraine. I am happy to say that many of these refugees are now part of the Hankook team.
The factory shutdown will be here soon, and I hope you will all have the opportunity to relax and take a break from the daily stress. I wish all those who will be on holiday a pleasant time. I am very thankful to the colleauges who will be working during these days.
Take care of yourselves, take care of each other.
