Top lists for Hankook Sustainable mobility vision
Hankook has been named one of the world’s most sustainable companies, beating out more than 4,500 companies in TIME and Statista’s list. The bi-weekly US magazine and global data and business information platform awarded the prestigious recognition to our company for its innovative efforts in sustainable management. In addition, The Financial Times, a London-based international daily, has selected our company as one of the “Asia-Pacific Climate Leaders 2024” for its strong efforts to use renewable energy, optimize energy efficiency, improve facility operations and introduce new energy technologies.
12 percent success, 10 000 volunteer hours
Our company has reduced greenhouse gas emissions coming from manufacturing by 12 percent compared to 2019,- demonstrating with facts its key goal of climate neutrality by 2050. This is projected to fall even further to 46.2 percent by 2030. In addition, our company is actively involved in a number of environmental projects such as “Our Forest”, which involves planting trees in the courtyards of schools for disadvantaged children and single mother centers in Korea. We also take social responsibility seriously in all areas: in 2023, our employees volunteered more than 10,000 hours worldwide. Volunteering is also popular at our factory in Rácalmás. Year after year, we demonstrate the need and usefulness of volunteering in the Employee Volunteering Program, which has been organized every year since 2013.
