Honor for Community Service – Community Contribution Award
Hankook Tire was honored with a prestigious award in September: the company received the Community Contribution Award at the 1st Hungarian Korean Companies CSR Awards, jointly organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Hungary, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) in Budapest.
The award recognizes Hankook’s exemplary social engagement in local communities, including the Tire Donation Program, the KÖSZ Hankook Employee Volunteer Program, and community infrastructure developments.
“This award represents a significant achievement made possible by the voluntary participation of our employees and close cooperation with local community organizations,” emphasized Lim Ho Taek, Managing Director of the Rácalmás plant, at the event.
Hankook’s social responsibility
Hankook Tire has been present in Hungary since 2006, and since then, in addition to tire manufacturing, ourcompany’s regular sponsorship activities have also moved to Rácalmás. Over the past 19 years, the company has donated more than 28,000 tires to 2,800 public benefit organizations, including the National Ambulance Service and the Hungarian Red Cross, to ensure safer operations.
Our company also pays special attention to supporting local healthcare institutions. In recent years, we have provided life support equipment, protective equipment, a nurse call system, and equipment upgrades worth 3 million forints this year to the Szent Pantaleon Hospital in Dunaújváros. The hospital recognized Hankook’s support with an “Outstanding Support Award.”
In addition to supporting healthcare, Hankook’s social responsibility programs provide wide-ranging assistance to local communities, helping disadvantaged families and supporting talented young people with scholarships.
