Summer holidays are here, a time for well-deserved rest and recharging. For some, sightseeing is their way to relax, for others hiking is the best way to unwind, and for a fair number of people, holidays are all about the water.

Lake Balaton is a favorite for many, and it brings to mind swimming, langosh and evening walks. Our largest lake is full of better and better bathing spots, and we recommend Balatonfüred. The largest beach in the capital of the northern coast, Esterházy Strand, is right in front of the magnificent Tagore promenade. It is a clean, landscaped area with a special beach for children, playgrounds, shade trees and excellent infrastructure. Füred, rich in attractions, is a paradise for water lovers and an ideal destination even when the weather is not suitable for swimming. You can also visit the Jókai Memorial House or the Vaszary Gallery, or for a more challenging experience, the Extreme Adventure Park.
For the lovers of sightseeing, a tour of our country’s second largest city is a great choice. Debrecen’s distinctive buildings, the Reformist Church and the Déri Museum are real historical gems, but science lovers will also enjoy the Agora Science Experience Centre. Younger children can meet Snow White and Mother Holle in the Kerekerdő Adventure Park, while the “Nagyerdő” (Big Forest) has a zoo, amusement park and Aquaticum bathing complex.
The Danube Bend is a Mecca for the hikers. For those who love hiking and the varied scenery of the forests, mountains and valleys, the area offers a plethora of destinations. For families with children, the Királyrét trail, the Gyadai trail near Vác in Katalinpuszta and the Ártéri trail in Vác are great adventures, while the Rám Gorge and the mountains of Dobogókő offer unforgettable experiences for hikers. Starting from a comfortable accommodation in the capital, you can conquer a place every day.
