Mixi Csomós becomes Hankook’s factory test pilot
For those who follow the world of rallying, the name of Miklós Csomós, alias Csomós Mixi, will be familiar, as the 29-year-old driver and his navigator Attila Nagy, who sits on the “right-hand side”, together, are one of the most talented and popular pairs in the Hungarian rally championship. It is a great pride for us that Mixi, who will compete in seven European Championship rounds and Rally Hungary this year, accepted the invitation of Hankook’s tire development department and we were able to test the new championship tires together at the end of April.
The two young men, who have been racing side-by-side since 2013 and won the Hungarian championship in 2017, have consciously built an exemplary career, which has not only caught the attention of Hankook motorsport’s leaders, but they have also been backing them as sponsors for quite some time. Also, since Mixi with Attila and our company, both have almost identical goals: to finish at the top of the championship, as a driver and as a manufacturer, the company management decided to test the Z215 asphalt and gravel tire, developed this year, with the determined driver.
Last year’s Rally Hungary runner-up took the familiar Skoda Fabia R5 to test three hard tires in Cered, Nógrád County. The rally driver drove a total of 172.2 km on the tires intended for the European Championship and the domestic competitions, which was controlled by experts such as the chief engineer of Hankook European Motorsport, the engineer responsible for the structural development of Hankook Racing Tires, who came straight from South Korea, but also Mixi’s Irish racing tire engineer and the engineer of RTH Versenyabroncs Kft were present. The experts asked Mixi to complete shorter and longer distances, during which all possible parameters were accurately measured and the young driver’s opinion was sought after each test. The joint work went so well that another similar session is sure to take place this year.

After the test day, Mixi was also very satisfied and said how honored he was to be asked to be Hankook’s test driver. “I always thought that Hankook was a very good choice for tire, but now I’m sure that it will be worth racing with this tire for years to come, it will give me the expected results.” –summed up the 29-year-old driver his thoughts.
We are excitedly looking forward to working together again and wish Mixi and Attila a successful run in this year’s championships!
