Our tires for electric buses won a prestigious award
This spring, our company proved its world-class performance again, winning the “product design” category of the Red Dot Design Award 2024 competition in Germany with our tire for electric buses. Hankook Tire’s winning product this year, the “e Smart city AU56”, is expected to be on the market worldwide by the end of the year.
The e-SMART City AU56 tire is made of advanced compounds and combines the latest technologies to optimize the performance of electric buses. The innovation delivers higher mileage, better grip and longer life, making them usable for much longer than conventional bus tires.
This award further strengthens Hankook Tire’s prominent position in the global market for tires ideal for electric vehicles. Together with the latest one, Hankook Tire has won a total of 17 awards at the Red Dot Design Awards since 2013. In 2015, Hankook Tire became the first Korean company to receive the Luminary Award, the highest honor at the Red Dot Design Awards.
A factory visit by the Korean regulars
Hankook Tire treated long service employees from Korean to a few daystrip. This was the occasion for 132 illustrious guests, who have been working for the company for more than 30 years, to visit our plant in Rácalmás. The colleagues, who arrived in four rounds – on 14 and 28 March and 18 and 26 April – were welcomed by our Managing Director Kim Hyung Yun and then treated to a real Korean speciality. The highlight of the program was always the factory visit, which provided an opportunity for mutual exchange and development.
Excellent test results of our summer tires
Numerous test results confirm that Hankook’s premium tires perform really well in terms of comfort and safety, and, according to the press, they are also excellent value for money. The most recent example is the result of the Auto Bild tire test (16/2024), in which the Hankook iON evo SUV achieved an “exemplary” rating. This is further recognition of our strategy to offer our premium products at consumer-friendly prices without compromising on quality.
After a comparative test of eight premium tires, Auto Motor und Sport magazine wrote of the Hanook compound: “Dynamic handling in wet conditions, with high levels of grip and easy steering. Direct steering response, exceptional dynamism on dry roads with excellent comfort characteristics.”
And Auto Bild Reisemobil and Auto Zeitung magazines have also praised the tire developed in our factory with the same acclaim, describing it as exemplary in terms of both performance and quality.
