Open day

Open day: how we work in our world-class factory

On 11 May, the doors of our factory reopened to our family members. The special day, like last year, was attended by a huge number of visitors: more than 120 people came to see behind the scenes.

After a four-year break, last year we offered two opportunities to show our friends and families where and how where we spend our working hours. The turnout was spectacular on both occasions, with almost 300 visitors in total. To ensure that no one missed out, we opened the doors again this spring and welcomed more than 120 visitors.

The Open Day started early in the morning at the Hankook House, where we offered gifts to the visitors after pre-registration. After a tour of our three-star hotel, we headed for the plant. The program continued in the large lecture hall where, after the presentation film, Katalin Roy, Head of Communications, welcomed the guests. The much anticipated factory tour then started, where our engineers demonstrated the tire manufacturing process and then the visitors were given a glimpse of the kind of spaces a Hankook employee goes through during his working hours. No question was left unanswered: from the big machines, to the warehouse, to the smallest screw, everything was shown around the factory. The exciting day ended with lunch together.

We found that, with the interested looks of family members and the enthusiasm of the children, there was not a colleague who did not feel like a superhero. We promise that the next Hankook Open Day won’t be long in waiting, and we’ll let you know the details in time for that.
