The “beautifiers” continue to keep up the tempo

Although the last few months have seen the hottest days of the century so far, General Affairs (GA) has been busy renovating more common areas. The renovation is expected to be completed by November 2023.

Whether it’s wind, rain or extreme heat, the GA unit’s enthusiasm has never stopped. They have been working tirelessly, and the number of improved communal rest areas and water blocks has been growing.

As we have already reported, almost 260 square meters of toilets and showers are planned to be renovated this year, at a total cost of tens of millions of forints. We reported on the results of the first phase in the previous issue of the magazine and now we present a summary of the second phase.

In the Building process, the Phase 1 toilet block has been handed over, which has not only been esthetically renovated, but the complete mechanical system and the electrical network have also been upgraded.

The second phase of the black and white changing rooms next to the boiler room was also completed, giving all the showers a new look. Here, in addition to the tiles, the mechanical systems have been renovated, too, and, most importantly, new waterproofing has been installed to prevent the structure from getting damp again.

At the same time, the sanitary block at the Sealant process was renovated, where in addition to the renovation of the mechanical and electrical systems, the room was given a new look.

By the time you read these lines, the complete renovation of the first floor of Mixing Phase 2 and the 2nd floor of Phase 1 will most likely be well underway. Here too, the electrical network and mechanical installations are being renewed, and the rooms are being fitted with new, easier-to-clean tiling. Their handover is scheduled for the end of October and will complete the renovation of the Phase 1 and Phase 2 bathrooms in the mixing area.

As for the future, the “beautifiers” are planning to renovate the showers at the wastewater treatment plant this year. They have decided to leave the biggest work to the end, and will need the cooperation of all colleagues working there. The ground floor of the men’s shower in the Welfare building will also be partially renovated. New waterproofing will be installed, some of the tiling will be replaced and, most importantly, the floors, which are now damaged, will be rebuilt.

As in the past, we are asking everyone to help by taking care of the renovated rooms. After use, leave everything as you would like to find it. We all enjoy a nice, ordered, clean environment. Let’s take care of it!
