
Preventing the spread of COVID-19
Probably many of you are unaware that the simultaneous spread of COVID-19 among workers has reached 20-25% in several multinational companies, which has also been reflected in production and sales results, all leading to wage cuts, or, ultimately, redundancies. In contrast, thanks to the effective measures, appropriate attitude and compliance of our colleagues, the proportion of infected people among our employees was a maximum of 0.5%, so the epidemic did not endanger the company’s operations or our livelihood at all.
We have already drawn the attention of colleagues to vaccination on several occasions. By indicating your needs at vakcinainfo.gov.hu, you are also indirectly notifying the government of the importance of obtaining the right amount of vaccine as soon as possible. We can only eliminate protective measures with the immunity acquired through vaccination!

Accident Prevention Plan
The measures taken in connection to the epidemic had a positive effect of the occurrences of accidents, as most of the colleagues were more disciplined in execution of their work. There was just one accident resulting in incapacity for months which happened because of a breach of troubleshooting rules, when a colleague tried to remove the material wrapped around the roller while the machine was running –unsuccessfully.
If work is to be carried out in the hazardous area of the machine, this is only possible when the machine is safely stopped, with a minimum of 2 people present. Besides this, we had typically cut injuries, which in 99% of cases could be prevented by wearing cut-resistant protective equipment provided by the company. In general, in addition to violations, the majority of accidents are caused by negligence.
In accident prevention, full compliance with the weekly educational materials remains the key. We urge you to get to know their content and apply what you have learned in your work! Unfortunately, the negative effects of the COVID-19 epidemic included the suspension of group education. To eliminate this, we plan to introduce educational materials containing audio files, for which the technical background is provided by Hankook, so these new types of materials will be available soon.

Health programs
In compliance with the protection measures, we also organized the multi-day health-screening program in 2020, which we closed with outstanding participation. The EHS department also signaled to organizers in 2021 the need for the program, which this time will be 3 days long and applicants will be able to participate in forty types of examinations. Only the employee and his / her General Physician will be informed of the results. (The company will not be informed).
Our latest initiative is to introduce healthy eating habits. The new workplace health professional, in the EHS department, also has outstanding experience in dietary. Recipes will be found in the corporate canteen’s renewed offer, which also includes healthier food. Everyone can rate their dishes according to a certain set of criteria; and the foods that get the most votes will come back to the menu on a regular basis.
