A celebration of dedication – 83 years old Hankook Tire
May is always an important time in the life of our company, as it cannot pass without celebrating the founding of Hankook Tire. At the celebration of the 83rd anniversary of our parent company and the 18th anniversary of our factory in Rácalmás, our colleagues who have been doing outstanding work for a long time were rewarded.
The colleagues who came to Hankook’s birthday party again this year filled the space between Welfare and the main building to capacity on 10 May. In keeping with tradition, this was the venue for Hankook’s 83rd birthday party and the 18th birthday party of the Rácalmás plant, where daytime employees were presented with the “Outstanding Employee” and “Regulars’ Guards” awards. The latter is awarded to those who celebrate a round anniversary, 5, 10 or 15 years of service with the company.
In addition to the award winners, colleagues and managers attended the event to congratulate the awardees on this occasion. The event began with a speech by Hyung Yun Kim Managing Director, who thanked the employees for their dedication and for being open to improvement despite the challenges, which he said was essential to achieving success.
“At the heart of our story are today’s stars, the regular award winners. Over the 18 years, many have come to work here and many have left, but our real pride and joy are the ones who have been with Hankook all the way. I’m proud to work with such wonderful colleagues to make us the best factory,” Hyung Yun Kim said in his speech.
“We still have many areas to improve, but if we keep in mind the motto ‘Back to the Basics’, I am sure that we will once again be mentioned among the top factories in the world. Moreover, when our truck tire unit is completed here in Rácalmás, our factory will have the capacity to be number 1 of all,” the Managing Director predicted.
The highlight of the day was the awards ceremony, where 28 people received the “Outstanding Employee” award. This was followed by a shared cake and then a relaxed chat.
This year, a record number of nearly 500 staff received some form of recognition. Two of them were awarded for 30 years, 121 for 15 years and 126 for 10 years of service. Congratulations to them all, we wish them continued success together!
