Tamás Krausz has been strengthening our team for 1 year in a trimming job. He says, he enjoys his job, which is also helped by the fact that he maintains a good relationship with his colleagues and boss. Even in busy everyday life, self time is important to him, which for him means mainly painting and making music.
As a young man in his twenties, painting is not an everyday hobby. Where did this form of relaxation come to you from?
As a child, my sister often seated me to draw, paint, when I could not play in the yard. At the time, it was a practical solution for her, but I fell in love with the creativity. My first major painting was made by stretching out a bed-sheet, that I had asked my mother for, on a piece of board; and later, when I felt that I would love to do it at other times too, I bought all the supplies I needed for it. There was also a lot of motivation when a teacher highlighted my drawing in the high school drawing department; and, it was also published in one of the Dunaújváros newspapers. I didn’t grow out of painting, later either: as an adult, there was a time when I worked in Germany, where I sometimes felt lonely after work; this was something I was able to enjoy also alone.
What technique do you apply and what topic do you use to create your works?
I use acrylic for my paintings and it is mostly inspired by the fauna. So far, I have created a total of approximately 20 paintings, mostly for myself, but I am also happy to give them as gifts to my family. Opposite my bed, for example, I have an image of an elephant; and, recently I surprised my girlfriend with a picture of a lion.
Another of your popular pastimes is music. Can you tell us a little bit about this?
I was captivated by the music when I was young, although at that time I listened to rap and even wrote my own songs with two friends. Today I compose techno; so far I have released 11 singles; and in Germany some of my work found place on a CD selection.
Where can your colleagues listen to your music?
I make songs under the name “Tom Kras”, which I usually upload to Soundcloud. I’m not sure this electronic line will win the liking of all my co-workers, but I’m not doing it for popularity, it’s for the creative experience. When I play music, I exclude everything else around me and just focus on that. I can recharge to the maximum while playing music and if some people like the fruits of it, I’m just happy.
