What is 5S?
5S is a powerful process management tool that finally works not only on paper but also in the physical world. Together, we can shape the operating conditions of our factory to maintain a working environment at Hankook where quality work can be done efficiently, transparently, loss-free and safely.
Who does it apply to?
The 5S applies to all Hankook employees and managers, because only together as a team can we achieve success and a change of mindset that leads to real improvements.
What is it based on?
5S is based on the 3Rs (R for right) system. This means that you can only work on a task once you have all your tools in the right place, only the materials and tools you need to meet the standards, and the right amount of everything you need to do your job: no more, no less.
What can we achieve?
With a well-functioning 5S, our factory will be clean and safe, allowing us to work efficiently and comfortably, and to detect and correct any faults quickly. With this new approach, our workplace will be in a state of continuous improvement, and this will be the basis for stability for all of us.
